Neoris Kicks Off its 10th Anniversary Celebration with Launch of NEOFrontiers, a Global Initiative to Cultivate the Next Generation of Technology Leaders In light of reports of a growing need to increase student enrollment in computer science courses, Neoris and JA Worldwide (Junior Achievement) are working together to motivate and inspire students to pursue careers in technology. On November 30, Neoris will serve as host to JA’s successful “Job Shadow Day” program at all Neoris offices worldwide. The event is part of Neoris’ celebration of its 10-year anniversary as a leading global business and IT consultancy specializing in SAP and application outsourcing. Bringing high-school students to Neoris’ corporate headquarters in Miami and to offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), the event is part of the company’s NEOfrontiers program, its newly minted initiative to help create the next generation of technology leaders. Student enrollment in computer science courses began declining after the dot-com bust and the recession. A shortage of technology innovators weakens the nation’s ability to compete in the global economy. Neoris’ objective: to educate students about the growing field of technology and how the industry drives the future of innovation. Throughout the day, students will “shadow” Neoris employees to witness firsthand the educational background and skills they will need to succeed in the workplace. In addition to learning about Neoris’ innovative business solutions, including its Video Wall that provides businesses with broad visibility and control of their operations, students will participate in videoconferences with Neoris’ global offices. They also will speak with Neoris CEO Claudio Muruzabal, a longtime advocate for youth education and a former President and current Board member of Junior Achievement’s Administrative Council in Argentina. The events worldwide take place at the following locations:
“For Neoris, it has always been a high priority to promote education and technology careers among our youths, and we saw the opportunity to kick-off this initiative as part of our 10-year anniversary celebration,” Muruzabal said. “Our company’s slogan is ‘Practical Visionaries,’ and to that end, we are working to put programs in place that will inspire the next generation of leaders who share our commitment to shape the future of technology.” Sean C. Rush, president and chief executive officer of JA Worldwide, added, “Junior Achievement is proud to partner with Neoris and commends the company for being the first to bring our ‘Job Shadow’ program on a global level by providing it at all its offices worldwide. Job shadowing provides students with priceless real-world experience as well as powerful role models, preparing them for advanced careers as the global economy becomes increasingly interdependent and interconnected.” Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Through a dedicated volunteer network, Junior Achievement provides in-school and after-school programs for students which focus on three key content areas: work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Today, 128 individual area operations reach more than four million students in the United States, with an additional 5.7 million students served by operations in 122 other countries worldwide.
